Stop Brass Nozzle Theft for Good — Replace It Once with a 10″ Plastic Downspout Nozzle
Brass downspout nozzles are basically cash on the wall for metal thieves — and the 10-inch downspout nozzle that stops theft for good is right here.
The End Metal Theft 10″ Plastic Downspout Nozzle solves the problem at the source. No metal = no scrap value = no reason to steal. That’s how you break the cycle — secure once, protected always.
What Is a 10″ Plastic Downspout Nozzle and Why Does It Stop Theft?
A plastic downspout nozzle is a direct replacement for brass or copper wall drain terminations. Unlike metal nozzles, plastic has zero scrap value — which means metal thieves have no incentive to remove it. No incentive, no theft, no repeat repairs.
EMT’s 10″ nozzle is injection molded from UV-resistant, outdoor-grade plastic — engineered specifically for permanent exterior exposure. As a result, it handles extreme sun, temperature swings, and weather without cracking, fading, or degrading. Unlike standard plastic fittings, this material is designed to withstand outdoor use for the long haul.
Unlike brass, it won’t pit, seize, or turn into a maintenance problem. Replace it once and move on.
The Real Cost of Brass Nozzle Theft — And Why This Fixes It Permanently
Commercial properties absorb what industry professionals call the “theft tax” — a recurring cycle where replacing stolen brass with more brass simply restocks the shelf for the next hit.
A single theft incident typically triggers emergency labor, water damage remediation, wall staining, and repeat theft within weeks. As a result, most property managers report total incident costs running well above the original nozzle value — multiple times over.
The EMT 10″ Plastic Downspout Nozzle is a one-time infrastructure upgrade, not a recurring expense. By removing the scrap value from the equation entirely, you de-list your building as a target. At $74.99, it costs a fraction of a single theft incident — and unlike brass, you only buy it once.
Why UV-Resistant Plastic Outperforms Brass for Exterior Drain Terminations
Brass was the default for decades — not because it’s the best material for the job, but because it was the most available. However, the problems with brass in exterior drain applications are well documented: it corrodes, pits in coastal and industrial environments, requires ongoing maintenance, and carries enough scrap value to make it a recurring theft target.
UV-resistant outdoor-grade plastic solves every one of those problems. Unlike brass, it is fully impervious to corrosion and salt air. Furthermore, it has zero scrap value, which means no maintenance calls or theft incidents. Because it is specifically engineered for prolonged sun exposure, it also resists the brittleness and degradation that standard plastic fittings develop over time.
The result is a drain termination that does its job quietly for years — without theft calls, repair bills, or replacement orders.
Easy Installation — No Special Tools Required
This is a fast retrofit or new-build solution that installs using standard solvent weld or adhesive — the same method your crew already uses. No fabrication, no welding, no custom nonsense. Glue it on and move on.
- Fits standard 10″ PVC and copper pipe (10 3/4″ hub opening)
- Hub depth: 5 1/8″ | Nozzle overall height: 15″ | Overall width: 11 5/8″ | Overall depth: 9 7/8″
- Includes a matching escutcheon ring for a clean, finished wall appearance
How do you install a 10″ plastic downspout nozzle? Apply solvent weld or construction adhesive to the hub, insert into the 10″ pipe opening, press firmly, and allow to cure. Installation typically takes under 10 minutes with no special tools.
Architectural Finishes — Looks Like Metal, Without the Theft Risk
Security should never compromise aesthetics. The 10″ nozzle features a low-profile, clean-line design finished with a durable painted coating that mimics the appearance of traditional metal hardware — while carrying zero resale value to potential thieves.
Available in four painted architectural finishes:
- Bronze (standard)
- Black (matte finish)
- White (matte finish)
- Dark Bronze (matte finish)
Need a precise match for a property portfolio or brand standard? Custom painted finishes are available for bulk orders — provide your hex code and EMT will match it.

Will a 10″ plastic downspout nozzle fit my existing pipe?
Yes — it fits standard nominal 10″ PVC Schedule 40, ABS, and copper Type L/M drain pipe. The hub opening is 10 3/4″ to accommodate the outer diameter of 10″ pipe with no adapters required.
Is plastic as durable as brass for outdoor use?
For exterior drain applications, UV-resistant outdoor-grade plastic outperforms brass in several key areas. Unlike brass, it is fully impervious to corrosion, pitting, and salt air.
Additionally, it has zero scrap value, eliminating the theft cycle entirely. Brass corrodes and requires ongoing maintenance. This plastic does not.
Will this nozzle maintain full drainage flow?
Yes — the internal geometry is flow-optimized to maintain full 10″ drainage capacity without restriction.
Can I get a custom color?
Yes. Custom-painted finishes are available for bulk orders. Contact EMT with your hex code — standard lead times apply for custom runs.
Is a bird screen available for the 10″ nozzle?
No – We do not currently offer a birdscreen for our 10″ plastic downspout nozzle.

Specified For These Property Types
- Multifamily residential — apartments, HOA communities, and mixed-use properties
- Retail and office plazas — exposed storefront and perimeter plumbing
- Parking structures — high-exposure, low-surveillance drain locations
- Industrial and warehouse facilities — loading dock and perimeter drainage
- Educational campuses — reduces maintenance cycles in public-facing areas
- Medical centers — reliable water diversion for critical facility infrastructure
- Municipal facilities — parks, transit stations, and public infrastructure
- Coastal and harsh-climate environments — UV-resistant construction handles salt air and weather extremes where brass fails fastest
Fits standard nominal 10″ PVC Schedule 40, ABS, and copper Type L/M drain piping. Installs via solvent weld or construction adhesive.
Fast, straightforward installation using methods your crew already knows. No special tools, no fabrication, no surprises.
What You’ll Need
- PVC solvent weld cement or construction adhesive
- Clean rag or primer (recommended for solvent weld)
- Optional: stainless-steel screw for added mechanical hold
Installation Steps
- Confirm your existing pipe is standard nominal 10″ PVC Schedule 40, ABS, or copper Type L/M
- Cut the pipe end square and deburr — pipe must seat fully against the internal shoulder of the hub
- Clean the pipe end and hub opening — remove all debris, old adhesive, and corrosion
- Apply solvent weld cement or construction adhesive to the inside of the hub
- Insert the hub over the pipe end, press firmly, and hold for 30 seconds
- Allow to cure fully before water exposure (follow adhesive manufacturer guidelines)
- Optional: Drive a stainless-steel screw through the hub into the pipe wall for extra mechanical security — recommended in high-theft or high-vibration areas
Pro Tips
- Position the included escutcheon ring flush against the wall surface before the adhesive sets
- For PVC, use clear Schedule 40 solvent weld cement for maximum bond strength
- For copper pipe, use a high-strength multi-material construction adhesive — PVC solvent weld will not bond to copper
- In cold weather, allow extra cure time before testing drainage
